Can I prevent Mail adding "mailto:" when copying addresses?

This question has been asked before but there's no good answer.


When you right (or two-finger) click on an email address in the body of an email, the only option for copying the email address is 'Copy Link'. Doing so includes 'mailto:' at the start of the email address.


I always have to manually delete this after pasting.


There should be a 'Copy Email Address' option.


Yes, you can select the text and then copy but you should have to do this. It should be in the right click menu.


This drives me mad.

So delete the lead in Mail to:


or drag your mouse over the link and C for Copy and V for paste.


I would do what works...
