MacOs edit picture

I take a screenshot. I would like to edit the picture meaning adding an arrow and marking something with a red circle.

Is there a standard till in macOS which supports this?

If you add screen shots to Photos you can use it as well.

How to use Mojave os x screenshot options Hello all, can anyone tell me how I can add a colored block around a snippet of text when using the the OS X's screenshot GUI [Shift+command+4]? Let's say as an example I wish to have a square red border over a snippet of text to highlight the text in it as in the attached screenshot. Screenshot changes in Ventura - No edit mode by default With the update to Mac OS X Ventura, it seems like they have changed how the screenshots work. In previous versions, after taking a screenshot, it would open in edit mode so you could start drawing straight away. Now in Ventura this is not the case anymore, and you need to click a couple of times to be able to start drawing, which is quite annoying as the main use case when taking a screenshot is to draw/annotate something on it. Is there a way to change this so it behaves like it did before? Any settings or something I'm missing? Thanks.

Yes, Preview can do simple edits/annotations.
