Siri sent a text without my permission?

I received a text message from my daughter. I replied to her text, then she told me that she never sent that text to me. I did notice that the text was “sent with Siri” which was the 1st time I’ve seen this. Is her phone being hacked? or mine? Anyone can spread some light on this? Any idea? any comments are truly appreciated, thank you. I use a iPhone 12 Max Pro, and my daughter has a iPhone X. Thank you

Hello JCCYL,

If a message is showing "Sent with Siri" under it, that would mean that someone activated Siri and sent a message through it. There is no way to "hack" sending a message through Siri. Someone would have to physically have the device, activate Siri and say "Send a message to (contact name)" followed by the message they want to send. If she didn't send it, then someone else would've had to have physical access to her device to send it.

With some fairly common configuration settings, Siri can be used from the iPhone or iPad lock screen, and can send messages. So yes, given physical access to the iPhone, this is quite possible. No hacks, no virus, either.

On the off chance that there are other issues here, I’d check the following: Personal Safety User Guide - Apple Support

I’d suggest changing the Apple ID password and device passcode, as well.
