how to delete Adobe Acrobat Reader

please can anyone tell me how i can close Adobe Acrobat Reader so as to be able to shut my Mac computer? i'm in a loop

If Adobe Acrobat Reader is not quitting try following the steps listed in "How to force an app to quit on your Mac."
