Can't adjust brightness on external monitor - Mac Studio w/Ventura

I just bought a Mac Studio and new monitor. I have a Viewsonic monitor connected to a M1 Max Mac Studio (Running Ventura).

  1. I am unable to adjust the brightness using the F1/F2 keys (with or without the Fn key pressed)
  2. I am unable to control brightness from the control center (greyed out)
  3. Under Displays in system settings, there is no option to change brightness.

Changing the picture profile did nothing, there is no HDR button to deselect (As suggested by others). It seems that everyone shows a screenshot with some different display controls... I will attach what I see in my setup.

Any ideas on what to do?? It's almost as if the brightness is full blast, the whites are blinding!

It’s connected via a USB-C cable to the thunderbolt port on the rear of the machine.

My experience with this monitor and Max Studio is new. But I know HDMI from my MacBook Pro to an LG monitor allowed for display controls.
