Right Arrow key moves… ON ITS OWN

My right arrow key keeps scrolling to the right by itself!!! Whenever I type and want to go back to change a typo or something like that then it rolls straight back to the right! I can’t watch a YouTube video because it skips parts randomly every few minutes. I can’t type back to correct anything. But when I use it it’s working fine. Everything works fine but the problem is it works on its own! My MacBook Air is about 7 months old and nothing bad happened. Until now. I really hope it my MacBook didn’t get hacked, but I have no clue if it is. Do I go to an Apple Store? Can this be fixed on by myself? I have no idea what to do.

Try and restart your MacBook to see if the issue persists.

If it persists, boot your mac in the safe mode to see if the issue persists. If it is gone in safe mode, you Will need to evaluate the software running on your mac as it is caused by an external piece of software if It is gone in the Safe mode

Start up your Mac with Apple silicon in safe mode

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Shut Down.
  2. Wait for your Mac to shut down completely. A Mac is completely shut down when the screen is black and any lights (including in the Touch Bar) are off.
  3. Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.
  4. Select a volume.
  5. Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.
  6. The computer restarts automatically. When the login window appears, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.
