Got my phone stolen in Europe. Have someone whose arriving tomorrow bring me a phone they purchased. Will my Applecare cover the new cost of the phone when i get home?

AppleCare + Theft & Lost I bought my Iphone 14 Pro with Applecare + Theft & Lost in California. I'm going to travel to Mexico and wanted to know if Apple Care+ Theft & Lost covers my phone while I'm in Mexico for a small trip. I just want to make sure before I bring this new phone or if not I'll just bring my older phone.

Applecare lost and theft My sister got new iPhone 14 pro max from Germany with applecare+ theft and lost. She lost her phone in Dubai on UAE visit. I want to ask she can claim applecare Theft and lost? To what extent applecare theft and lost compensate?
