Verify purchase on child account

when I am trying to allow a purchase on my child’s iPhone with Family Share it prompts me verify the credit card. A verification code is sent to my phone and I enter it on my child’s phone but it will not let me select the blue ‘verify’ button on the top right, only the back option will work. Any suggestions? Apple Pay works just fine on my phone so I know the card info is correct.

I am having the exact same issue. My 8 year old want an in app purchase. 1) i do not get the notifications for approval. 2) if i turn purchase approval required off, her ipad says verify payment method but i cannot click on anything to do that on her ipad (‘contact family organizer’). Payment methods on my phone have all been updated. I rebooted several times… please somebody help ‘cause i am desperate.

I’m having the same problem on my eight year old iPad. It shows all the payment methods and says they need verification but won’t allow me to verify any of them. Says if you can’t verify any payment methods contact your family organizer but I can’t seem to get it to work. I have erased the iPad and re-downloaded everything from the iCloud. I’m able to purchase things and games but I can’t download anything from the App Store on my eight year olds iPad. Please help

thank you so much for trying to help me with this. It’s been two days of **** now… if i try to go thru settings like you suggested, i cannot verify payment method on her ipad, i cannot even click on the cards that are shown with ‘verify’ next to it. ‘Contact family organizer’… it says. On my phone everything has been verified so i’m clueless on what more i can try. I was thinking of taking her out of the ‘family’ and adding her back in but then i would have to create a new account apparently and i do not want to do that. Please help anybody??? 🙏🏻

Hi, I think I figured it out. I was on the phone with Apple support when I figured it out myself. Does your child’s iPad have a passcode set? My kids did not because she was not able to open it with a passcode, but once I enter a passcode that was simple for her to remember I was able to download apps from the App Store. Try that and let me know. Should work.

I have spent 2 days on this and still have the exact same problem you are experiencing. Went to the Apple store and they could not figure it out. My daughter's iPhone and her new iPad cannot download any apps because there is no way to verify a payment method. The cards show up in her profile but there is no way to verify the card. I have added additional cards, they show up, but you cannot select the card to verify it. I deleted all payment methods on my phone, and added one back, still having the same issue. I really hope someone here has the fix for this.

I'm having similar issue and sooo frustrated. just 3 weeks ago I purchased a couple apps on his tablet. today when I need it most not working. Im using Kidslox for securing his tablet, and do not have any of apples default child protection on. He's set as a child profile, I did the sharing but somehow his email is listed on his at the primary. I tried removing my secondary and redoing, now I get. you can change this in 89 day. FFS 89days??? I can't download a new app on a very long rainy weekend for our special needs kid and it sucks. I click it, it prompts for password, verification and just sits and spins. and on the share I have my paypal setup which worked last time..

I am currently the only one in the household (Family Sharing Organizer) that can download anything. Everyone else in our Family Sharing cannot download or update apps in the Apple Store. Under each person’s Apple ID, who is not the organizer, I cannot verify the Payment type on file as it says that it’s setup in Family Sharing and contact the Family Organizer. Ask to Buy is also not working. My children ask to buy and I never receive the request on my phone

I was eventually able to fix this. I believe I removed everything and started over. I removed the permissions on my kids’ phones first. Then I deleted everything in my wallet and any credit card I had attached to my phone. Then I re-added just one credit card on my phone. Then setup permissions again on my kids’ phones for that one card. Then after a week, added 1-2 more cards on my phone but kept the primary card the one that is attached to my kids’ phones. Been fine for months so far.

I’m not sure what methods you’ve tried but I actually JUST fixed this issue on my daughter’s iPhone a few minutes ago. I’m not sure if this will work but my husband’s phone had his Apple Cash as his first payment method to be charged. After going through all of these fix attempts, I went to his payment settings and made the debit card first. Once I did that, her phone asked for verification and then I entered it and it worked. Sorry if that doesn’t help but we just spent hours on this and that’s what worked. So frustrating!
