Just got a new iPhone and new SIM card. My card is not yet activated so I still need to use my existing phone. If I put the new SIM card into the new phone will it cut my old phone off ?

If I put the new sim in my new phone will it make my old phone stop working. Because my new phone cannot be connected until tomorrow afternoon and I need an active iPhone

iPhone 14, 16

You can easily put your new SIM card in your new iPhone. This will not close the connection, on your old iPhone (and your old SIM card)

I assume you are waiting for your number to be ported to another network provider. Your current old SIM card will remain active until your number is ported. Then it will close and you will see "No Service" at the top of your old iPhone, and then your new SIM card should be ready for use.
