M1 Macbook air power up on lid close!

Hello,

I`m using a MacBook Air M1 2020 and the latest MacOS Ventura 13.2.

I am facing an annoying issue, every time when shut down the computer and close the lid, the computer booting and start the OS.

This issue is happening since I installed the MacOS Venture, I have tried many fixes, like disabling Bluetooth, uninstalling software, disabling wi-fi connections, etc. Unfortunately, I am facing the same issue.

Anyone can help, this happens only if I close the lid, using the power cord or not I have the same issue.

Regards,

Irvin

Hello Irvin_b,

From what you've shared it sounds like your device is waking unexpectedly. To help isolate and potentially resolve this behavior we recommend reviewing the following user guide: If your Mac sleeps or wakes unexpectedly - Apple Support

Start with reviewing the settings below.

"Check your system’s sleep settings

Make sure the sleep settings are set the way you want.

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Lock Screen  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. To set the amount of time that should pass before your computer goes to sleep, do one of the following:
    • Click the “Turn display off on battery when inactive” pop-up menu on the right, then choose an option.
    • Click the “Turn display off on power adapter when inactive” pop-up menu on the right, then choose an option."

Regards.
