How to install third party sound libraries?

So I'm incredibly naive when it comes to this type of stuff. I have all these sounds, samples, packs, etc. that I have downloaded but I don't know how to get them to appear in Logic. The best I can do is drag and drop but that only works on some files and it only works within that session, so I have to drag and drop again when I reopen the session. I tried following some tutorials but for some reason my sounds are always greyed out when it comes to that part of the video. I think what I'm trying to do it set up a sound library that Logic can access each time I open a session, right? Like for example on the school computers I can open Logic and use a plug in no problem, but on my own laptop I have it downloaded but it doesn't show up in Logic. Do I create a new folder to house all of the downloaded plug ins, sounds, etc. or does it automatically go somewhere and then I need to find it and link it with Logic. If so, can someone explain to me how to do that?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, like I said I'm pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff. Pretend you're explaining to someone who didn't have internet or electronics growing up.

Oooohhhh okay, see I had no idea that there were different installation processes. I'm still very new to making music so I'm basically downloading as much free stuff as possible. I have 8DIO, Native Access, KeepForest, Vital, AlterEgo, Sine Player, and Cymatics. The AlterEgo actually came with installation instructions but it was basically drag and drop the files into the plug in and everything has worked well so far. Other than that, I just have a bunch of stuff just sitting in my downloads folder from 8DIO and Cymatics.

I don't know if it's the same issue, but as far as I know I have free sounds downloaded for Reaktor 6 however when I open it, it says it needs Native Access in order to work. So it asks if I'd like to open Native Access, I click yes, then it says I need to download Native Access which is confusing because I already have it downloaded and I'm logged in. I click yes again and Native Access opens and closes automatically and nothing has changed.

No worries at all. There's no such thing as a stupid question! We all have to start somewhere.

For most sound libraries, you just need to put the files in a folder called "VST Plugins" or "Audio Units." Then, when you open Logic, the sounds should be there for you to use.

If you have Reaktor 6, you'll need to use a software called Native Access to manage the library.

For the other sound libraries, you may need to look for instructions on how to install them, but it's usually just a matter of putting the files in the right folder.

Let me know if you need any help with specific steps.
