Can't Relocate Library

Hello, everyone,

I am trying to relocate the Sound Library to an external drive; LogicPro doesn't let me do that giving me this:

Can't access this file. Any ideas what to do?

Using LogicPro 10.7.8 on Monterey.

Logic pro downloads new sound library items to wrong location Hi there, This relates to Logic Pro 10.7.4 I installed around half (at a guess) of the sound library. I used the tool in LP to move it to my external SDD. Later I downloaded some more items in the Sound Library Manager. Yet they end up installing to my local disc. What's more, LP seems to then not "see" the files on the external SSD after I relaunch it. It will give me a prompt to the effect that the sound library link is broken (paraphrasing here), and ask if I want to keep the library on the local disk, or restore the link. I can then click a "Keep" or "Link" button. (first button might say something other than "Keep"... but you get the picture). If I click "Link" the problem doesn't go away. After next relaunch, same issue. If I click "Keep" (or whatever the button on the left is) I am left with only the files LP that were installed during the most recent download, which are on my local disc. I have been around this loop at least 8 times in the past couple of days. It's consumed massive amounts of my relatively limited broadband connection. Is this a known bug? Or is there something I am overlooking? Or ... ?

Problems ReLocating Logic Sound Library to External HD (Permissions Issue) I am trying to relocate my Logic Pro X Sound Library to my external HD to free up some of the ~70gb it takes up on my hard drive. I have downloaded all available sounds and reinstalled the sound library. The problem I run into is when I select Relocate Sound Library. After about 1 second of 'Calculating Sound Library Size,' I get an error that reads "The file “GospelChoir Yeah.bak” couldn’t be opened because you don’t have permission to view it. I am logged in as admin, so I should have full access. But what's more frustrating, I cannot find that file anywhere! My guess is that there are more files like this (hidden, preventing me from relocating), but I don't know why or where. Any help?! • MacBook Pro macOS Monterey 12.6 • Logic Pro 10.7.4

Logic "forgets" sound library location This has been a recurring issue for me. After installing the Essential sound library to the internal then using the Relocate... function to move it to an external drive. Then I downloaded the complete sound library to the external drive. When I relaunch Logic it asks if I want to use my internal drive or link to the external. I choose "Link". When Logic opens many (~25%) of the sounds show as needing to be downloaded. If I go ahead and (re)download the sounds they show up on the internal drive and not where Logic itself knows the library is located (which is on my external). The "missing" sound files are on the external drive according to the finder. Am I missing something or is the library relocation feature just bugged? I've run through this process 4 or 5 times, including a call to Apple Support who were pretty much stumped. Seems easier to just move them myself and create my own alias, which seems to be all Logic is doing (poorly) behinds the scenes. I'm running Big Sur on a 2020 M1 Mac Mini. I don't want to upgrade to Monterey since that doesn't play well with some other plugins.

Same situation here, Logic 10.7.8, Monterey 12.6.6...

It seems that some old library may be interfering with the relocation... any ideas ?
