Should I install XCrun (Command Line Developer Tools)

My laptop is telling me I need to install XCrun. I looked online and it appears to be some sort to computing language that developers use.

The install dialogue box said it would take 41 hours to install.

I pressed cancel to dismiss it but the instruction to install keeps coming back.

Why am I being told I have to install this? Do I have to install it? If not, how do I get the install box to go away?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.1

Some app that’s been installed here and that you’re attempting to use (or that’s itself attempting to start up) is trying to use a component of the command line tools, possibly a dependency on Python or such, and that is triggering the installation request.

That 41 hours implies your internet network connection is slow.

Download and run the (free) tool EtreCheck, and share the generated report to the clipboard. Then open a new reply here, press the Additional Text button that looks like a printed page to get a text input box big enough to paste the hardware and software configuration report here, and paste and post it here.

If Clean My Mac is here, remove it.
