I have a new copy of Final Cut express 4.
We are trying to open it on a MacBook Air 2020. It has macOS Monterey version 12.5 on it.
When we put the installation disk in we get so far and then are seeing the picture below? Can anyone help us to get past this and run the program?
My autistic son is desperate to use this software so any help would be so much appreciated!

It might work, but I think that the last version of the OS in which it worked was Sierra 10.12.
So you'd need a mac old enough to run that version.
Note: I used to have FC Express, but I have not used ever since I bought FCP "X" in 2011.
It has been established here in the forum multiple times that the old FCP 7 only worked up to Sierra; I am guessing that the same applies to FC Express, but I have not actually used in Sierra.
The last version of OS X/macOS that Final Cut Express 4 reliably ran on was Snow Leopard (10.6.8).
Many users tried to get it installed & running on later versions of macOS with limited & spotty success. Some got it running on Lion (10.7) and some all the way up to Sierra (10.12) but only if they had previously installed FCE and upgraded macOS afterward.
Final Cut Express was discontinued over a decade ago and isn't compatible with recent OS versions. Use Final Cut Pro or iMovie instead.
