Watch timer stops music

Hello,

I often set timers on my Apple Watch 4 series for training purposes and recently noticed that when the timer goes off, the music in my AirPod pro’s stop (normal) but once I’ve hit stop on the timer, the music does not resume and often having to go back into app to resume music.

I don’t think this used to be the case and has recently started happening. My watch is updated to the newest software and have reset it, and I have also reset my AirPods with no luck.

Any more suggestions?

Many thanks

Apple Watch Series 4, watchOS 9

Hey there mwalker01,

Let's rule out some possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening:

  1. Does this same issue occur after you stop a regular alarm goes off on your watch?
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and Restart your Apple Watch
  3. If you have a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 16.3. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  4. You mentioned that this wasn't the case util you updated your watch. We see that you have watchOS 9 installed, but the latest version is watchOS 9.3. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to Update your Apple Watch.

Cheers!
