Matter Accessories not showing

Hi all,

I’m on iOS 16.3 and can’t seem to interact with Matter. The “Matter Accessories” tab under settings->General doesn’t show up and I can’t seem to add non-HomeKit matter devices through Apple Home.

I have 2 HomePods (gen 1), 2 HomePod minis, and an Apple TV 4K all up to date with the latest software updates - so they should at least be Matter compatible.

I’m attempting to add the Nest Wi-Fi Pro which is matter compatible through Apple Home but the app won’t recognise it.

Any idea what’s going on?

Thanks

Hi there TheWaler,

Thanks for posting to Apple Support Communities.

We understand you're wondering why your Matter-enabled device is not able to appear in iOS. In order for a device to appear in Settings > Matter Accessories, a compatible device needs to be paired to your iPhone or iPad to access Matter Accessories in Settings.

Compatible devices are listed here: Home app - Accessories - Apple

This accessory would have needed to be set up with an Apple ID when it was configured: "Make sure that you're signed in with the Apple ID that you used to set up your Matter accessories." View your paired Matter accessories - Apple Support

We would refer you to the vendor of the accessory for the possibility of being paired with the iPhone: Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support

That should help explain things.

Take care.
