Home Pod 2 as stereo pair appear unbalanced depending on source.

I have two HomePod 2 speakers set up as a stereo pair, linked to an Apple TV 4K. Set up through home app. If I play streaming radio, from Apple Music (TuneIn radio) the left hand speaker is dominant and I have to up the volume on the right speaker to balance. If playing TV, with the Apple TV connecting to the TV device, the right hand becomes dominant and I have to manually balance the left hand speaker. If I turn up the volume in either case the lack of balance appears to lessen.

What’s going on?

It should operate both, no matter which one you touch.

Have you set up your HomePods up to be the default Audio on your ATV4k? If not, do that: Set up home theater audio with HomePod or HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K - Apple Support

Restart Apple TV

Restart HomePods

If it’s still not working try using the Home App to Ungroup the pair, then stereo pair again.
