Airpod Issue: Generation 3

I'm trying to figure out why only one of my Airpods is connecting to my phone. I have tried to reset them by forgetting them as a device and rejoining plenty of times but the right airpod is still not being connected or recognized. When I hold down the button to reset, it holds white then the white color goes off. My firmware is up to date and I have even resettled my network settings. I want to know how to fix this or what to do.
