Hello, my mom bought an iPhone SE 2020 recently and my sibling helped her sync the data on her old phone by following the instructions of the setup assistant.
Apparently, the old phone wasn't fully backed up and some things, like Messages and Notes, weren't brought over. But in the meantime, she's still been texting, using Notes and other apps. How can we sync and recover the old phone's data without losing the newer data?
Restoring always removes the newer data.
If you have a backup then you can restore from it. Hope you are aware of the restoring process which will wipe out everything on your device with that of the backup.
If you are 100% sure that the backup that you are restoring has the data that you are looking for and are ready to wipe out your current data the please go ahead. Else take a current backup and archive it. Then restore.
