Apple TV 4K 2022. 3rd Gen-- no Atmos on Netflix

I hope the answer is already on this forum. Surely this is a common problem but I'm new here. My new Apple TV 4K 2022. 3rd Gen doe not access Atmos on Netflix. It get it with all my other streams. The device is described as having access to Atmos on Netflix, unlike the Amazon Fire stick which does not. I have contacted Netflix. I get basic replies but no answers. The Netflix menu shows that they are not sending it. It just said 'vision' but not 'atmos. The Apple device is superb in every way. I want to start enjoying it. Has anyone resolved this?

I have Netflix Premium 4K.

I also have Amazon Prime, HBOmax, Paramount+

I have 4K on all them and I get Atmos on those with my Apple TV.

I have an LG OLED Smart TV and I can get 4K and Atmos on all four services,

streaming with the internal hardware --and from my Sony 4K BluRay player.

My audio system is a recent model Yamaha AVR.

It is 7.2 system that can be configured for Atmos and DTS-X.

I have it set up for 5.1.2 Atmos (two overheads)

Netflix tells me if a title has Atmos on the screen when the show is highlighted.

On my LG: I go to the new show 'Wednesday' on Netflix the 'Wednesday' page will say 'Vision'/ 'Atmos'.

If I go to that Netflix page on the Apple it will say 'Vision'. It doesn't say Atmos-- and it isnt Atmos.

I'm not sure it is even 5.1 .

This is the only thing I can think to do:

Netflix knows I can't receive Atmos, so something is preventing it.

If you or someone on this Forum, with Premium Netflix and Atmos,

can give me a list of your settings (the set up) on the Apple TV, it may resolve this.

Not all titles on Netflix have Dolby Atmos. When the title supports it, and when you have the UHD/Premium plan, then you should be able to get Dolby Atmos. Atmos may not be available for alternative (dubbed) audio tracks. Atmos is not available with the Netflix Basic or Standard plans.

As Netflix retires some tiles from time to time, lists get dated quickly, but try one of these titles that are marked “Yes” for Atmos.

This is an issue specifically to Apply TV 2022. Netflix does not display programs or filmed as Dolby Atmos. However after a few days Atmos does show up but some 5.1 programs then have no sound.

I also have a 2018 Apple TV which does not have this issue.

my setup comprises of LG C2/SONOS ARC/Apple TV 2022

also of interest this issue does not occur if I use Apple TV in EARC mode with two HomePods

If other apps on Apple TV give you Dolby Atmos, then your settings are correct for the Apple TV box. Netflix should be able to use those same correct settings to stream their Atmos audio track. Not sure why it isn’t working for you, if it isn’t Netflix account settings.

I hope someone else is able to assist you further.

I have also recently experienced that I cant find films on Netflix with Atmos. Works with other streaming services like Disney+.

Ive experienced this a year or two ago also.

Are Netflix cutting costs or is it a bug?

What I sometimes notice is that the netflix app does not indicate dolby atmos, but that my soundbar does indeed broadcast dolby atmos. I use a Bose Soundbar 900 for this, I can check in the app what kind of sound format is being broadcast.
