Setting up new Mac mini from Time Machine backup

I feel pretty stupid asking this question, but as I get older I seem to get less competent in many things, so here goes. If I get myself a new M2 Mac Mini (presumably with Ventura pre-installed) to replace my existing iMac 27 (Intel, running Monterey), am I likely to run into any problems if I set up the newcomer by restoring from a Time Machine backup of the iMac? would I be better simply copyimg my data between machines, and downloading new versions of my preferred apps? In case it affects the issue, I wold probably be doing this using a slow ADSL connection, because where I will be living doesn't have fibre yet.

Migrating from your Time Machine backup during the initial setup, is the easiest, fastest and most reliable way to move to a new Mac.
