HP 8710 will not connect or scan or print with Ventura MacOS

Got a new Mac last year and it works great! However, auto updates have gotten me to Ventura 13.2 and at some point in the last 4 months, the HP 8710 printer and MacBook Pro stopped talking wirelessly. I don't have enough cords to hook it in physically (plus the family uses the printer wirelessly, and I'm afraid that making it a USB printer would limit their access).

I use the HP 8710 as a wireless printer (MacBook and printer are on the same network) but I can only print from my phone -- which apparently doesn't have the same connectivity issues as the new Ventura OS. So obvs, the problem is most likely coming from the Mac update communicating with the printer.

Is there a workaround? Printer is out of warranty and HP offers no support or solution for this issue yet.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is AirPrint compatible according to this Apple document: About AirPrint - Apple Support. Therefore try the following in order as needed:

1 - make sure the unit is logged into the local WiFi network.

2 - go to the System/Printers & Scanners and reset the printer system: Reset the Mac printing system to solve a problem - Apple Support

3 - remove the printer from the settings pane and add it back with AirPrint or Bonjour connectivity.

If you end up being able to print but not scan give the demo version of VueScan  a try.
