iCloud syncing

Trusted devices list is showing not available on my iPhone 12 and my (6th gen?) iPod. All devices are showing on my iPad (2nd gen) and my 2017 MAC. I updated to 12.5.7 on my iPod and iPad, 16.3 on my iPhone and Venture 13.2 on my Mac several hours ago. My complete Safari history is only on my Mac. I have preformed iCloud backups on all devices. I would appreciate good advice. Thanks.

Hello RbirdNC,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities.

We understand that your iPhone 12 and iPod are not showing your list of trusted devices even after updating the software version. We'd like to verify if your devices appear on the website as well. Here's how to check:

"Use the web to find where you're signed in

From the Devices section of your Apple ID account page, you can find all of the devices that you're currently signed in to with your Apple ID, including Android devices, consoles, and smart TVs:

  1. Sign in to appleid.apple.com,* then select Devices.

Find which devices that you're signed in to with your Apple ID on the web

2. If you don’t see your devices right away, click View Details and answer your security questions.

3. Click any device name to view that device's information, such as the device model, serial number, OS version, and whether it's a trusted device that can be used to receive Apple ID verification codes. The information might vary depending on the device type."

More info here: Check your Apple ID device list to find where you're signed in

If all of your devices are listed there, restart your iPod and iPhone to verify if you continue to receive the same error message. Completing this step refreshes your device and the software:

Restart your iPod touch

Restart your iPhone

If the issue persists, we suggest that you reach out to Apple directly. You can follow this link to connect with them: Get Support

Also, in order to access your Safari data across your devices, be sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID. If you have devices where you’re not signed in with your Apple ID or that have the Safari feature turned off, your Safari data will not sync across your devices. Click here for more details: Set up iCloud for Safari on all your devices

All the best.

This has been happening to me as well as several other people I’ve talked to since updating my iPhone to 16.3 I don’t think it has anything to do with you or your phone specifically. Someone suggested in another forum that since 16.3 radically changed security(I.e. The addition of hardware security keys, etc..) the Apple servers that handle this are having a hard time, keeping track and propagating all of the new information. Thus, individual iPhone users will have issues in seeing their trusted devices, especially on their iPhones at some times. Three days ago I was unable to see my trusted devices list on my iPhone all day. Then, like a snap,at night it magically came back. I would give it a couple of days to let the server catch up with all the new security keys being added.

Just give Apple support a call. They’ll be able to go into your device with your permission and look to see if you possibly have a setting in those devices that limits the amount of time the iCloud goes back on those devices. Or it may just take some time for the Previous data to re-populate on those devices only going back to 2023. I would still give Apple support a call. .
