For some baffling reason, the timeline in FCPX suddenly shrinks from time to time as I move the mouse. I cannot fathom what I am doing to initiate this. It's no problem to fix it, just click on the Zoom (magnifying glass) and zoom it back out again — but it's annoying as ****. Any ideas about how to avoid this, or what is causing it?

You nailed it, Luis (as usual) — except I am not using the trackpad. I had the mouse set on smart zoom, so if I accidentally tapped the top of the mouse, bingo, timeline would instantly shrink. I turned off smart zoom, no more vanishing timeline. Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated as always.

I think that it may be due to accidentally resting a second finger on the trackpad, which may lead to a perceived pinch gesture. It happens to me as well.
