Office 365 "failure to install" on new MBP (M1) 13.x.x

Message: "failure to install. Contact manufacturer"

Valid Office 365 (personal) subscription wanting to add new MBP device
OS 13.0.1
Runs on other MBP M1

Contacted Microsoft, got to level 2 after various non-successful fix attempts; was told this is a known problem with Ventura and will be fixed; meanwhile just downgrade OS to 12. [I choose not to do that, long story.]

Question: ? Is this in fact a known problem? I installed the other Office 365 when using previous OS 12, but don't know that it is a factor.

Any reasonable suggestions gratefully accepted.

Success!

This worked: Go to “portal.office.com” and click “Install apps” to download Office 365.

In one of the links you provided, this information was shared down thread by a Microsoft user-commenter—found when I was in a better state of mind.

Also, I just checked the Microsoft 365 for Mac Install forum and didn't find many indications of a problem there, but the following may help.

Thanks for speedy response. Went through some of these myself and with M/S techs through their help portal. No success.

I suppose if no direct reiteration of my situation with positive response on our Apple community support page, I can contact Apple's helpline; but thinking they'd refer me back to M/S.
