I get the error message "Error 79: inappropriate file type or format" when I try to open the zipped folder that iCloud Photos created when downloading to my Mac (iOS 12.2). It's a large zipped folder (4.6GB) containing 999 videos, but I have plenty of disk space to expand it into (>120GB).
Any ideas on how I can unpack this allegedly inappropriate folder?

Never mind - reducing the download request to 500 video files increased the folder size to 24GB, and downloaded the videos as separate files rather than part of a zipped folder.
Unfortunately the metadata attached to the files was lost: date taken, iPhone information etc. Anyone know of a decent free/cheap video downloading app that can retain this info?
I've seen some queries about this from 2-3 years ago, but the solutions suggested there do not work for me.
