TurbtoTax online versions are compatible with Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur and (probably) Monterey & Ventura.

For Catalina these are the minimum requirements:

I have macbook pro and the same problem with trying to install turbo tax 2022. im getting the same error message "need to update to bigsur" but it tells me that I cannot. Currently I have macbook pro 13 inch mid 2012 with MacOs catalina 10.15.7. When I try and update it says that I am up to date. and yes i did see the reply above yours stating to just use turbotax online. I may have to do that

What if it is a mid-2012 model? Will I be allowed to upgrade?

I attempted to use the online version, but the same thing happens. Do I assume this program simply will not work with my old Mac?

Exactly what model Mac do you have ... and what version of macOS is currently installed on it?
