I have a iMAC 21.5 inch all in one (MAC OS 10.15.7 Catalina, late 2013) the new turbotax software for 2022 tax year will not work because it needs MAC OS Big Sur 10.16 or better to work. To avoid buying a new computer should i go to a computer expert to download it? I am not computer savy so I might not do it right and lose a lot of my info?

Unfortunately, your iMac cannot run macOS Big Sur 11. macOS Catalina is the latest supported version of macOS for your Mac.
If you need macOS Big Sur 11 or later, you'll need a newer Mac.

Is there nothing we can do?
One possibility is using TurboTax online version, I'm not a TT user however they have had that option for years.
