Verification codes come to iPhone but not iPad

Apple sent me a new iPad Pro because the screen on my other iPad Pro was cracked. I transferred everything from old to new. I thought everything would work fine but now If I log onto a site that sends a verification code, it will go to my iPhone but not my iPad. I have gone online and checked all options mentioned but I can’t for the life of me get my iPad to receive verification codes from any websites. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Presumably your “verification codes” are arriving as an SMS text message.


Ensure that both your iPhone and iPad are signed-in to iCloud with the same AppleID. To send or receive SMS/MMS messages with your iPad you must explicitly enable Text Message Forwarding for your new iPad on your iPhone...


On your iPhone:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to ON - and explicitly enable your iPad from the list of devices.


Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to ON
