USB-C remote for Apple TV not working.

Is this a manufacturing issue with the product? When put in pairing the Apple TV remote (with USB-C) connects to the Apple TV but whenever I walk more than 3 feet from from the TV the remote will disconnects. I purchased a the newest Apple TV with Ethernet in December 2022 but returned it and exchanged it for an identical product but experiencing the exact same issue. My current Apple TV and the one bought in December both were able to control the TV volume without any issue including in different rooms and different tvs but had issues communicate with the Apple TV. The remotes from both purchases would work properly for for a day or so but after that it stoped working. I owned all previous version of Apple TV and really enjoy the product but never had this issue. I have used all of the tips on the support page and the remote battery is fully charged. I am able to use my phone as a remote with no issues. Two products, bought almost a month apart with the same problem. Any tip on a fix or is this going to be another return?
