Remote keeps losing connection

My remote keeps losing the connection to my Apple TV box. I hit the buttons, even hold for several seconds, and there is no response. It has happened in various times: while on screensaver, playing a video, or even off. It is happening more frequently. It is up to twice a week. The only way to reconnect the remote is unplugging it and replugging it again. Then it will reconnect.

Is there a fix? I only had it since December 9.

You may try checking for any available tvOS updates with the help of this page: Update Apple TV software - Apple Support


1. Open Settings  on Apple TV. 
2. Go to System > Software Updates and select Update Software. 
If an update is available, a message appears.
3. Select Download and Install to start downloading. 
During the update process, don’t disconnect your Apple TV. The status light may flash slowly during the update process.


Updating will help to ensure the latest improvements/fixes are applied.


If the Apple TV is inside a cabinet or behind the TV, try repositioning it to be outside of the cabinet or in-front of the TV where applicable.


If it's next to a router, try re-positioning it to be further than five feet away to rule out interference.
