Why can’t I see my reminders on an upgraded iPhone?

I upgraded my reminders on my MacBook running Ventura, and later I signed into iCloud on an iPhone running iOS 16.2. I’m seeing an error in the Reminders app that says: “The creator of this list has upgraded these reminders.”, and none of my reminders are visible in the app. My iPhone is fully upgraded, so why can’t I view reminders that were upgraded by my MacBook?

I’ve tried:

1. Quitting Reminders on the iPhone and reopening it.
2. Restarting my iPhone.
3. Turning off Reminders in iCloud settings on the iPhone and turning it back on.
