turn off conversation mode for all messages

I switched from Outlook for Mac to the MacOS native mail application. I hate that the app insists on grouping all related emails into conversations. I don't like it. For every conversation I have to unselect "organize by conversation". I can't find anywhere in settings to permanently disable that "feature."

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 13.0

Mail if you customize tool bar— there is a Conversation control you can add to the toolbar.

Control click in the tool bar also presents the option.

Once I have it set the way I want it— I remove those options from my tool bar so I don't accidentally trigger it on again.
