Picture in Picture

I am trying to use Picture in Picture on YouTube in safari by clicking the specific button while in full screen mode, however it will be in PIP for about 2 seconds and the will go back to the regular setting. I have checked that my iPhone is up to date and that PIP is turned on in settings but nothing is working. I have also restarted my iPhone many times to no avail. It might be because I have an iPhone 8 so it’s a little old but i am not sure

iPhone 8, iOS 16

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities User2451,

You can use the following steps to take advantage of Picture in Picture on iPhone.

While watching a video, tap the Minimize Video button.

The video window scales down to a corner of your screen so you can see the Home Screen and open other apps. With the video window showing, you can do any of the following:
Resize the video window: To make the small video window larger, pinch open. To shrink it again, pinch closed.

Show and hide controls: Tap the video window.

Move the video window: Drag it to a different corner of the screen.

Hide the video window: Drag it off the left or right edge of the screen.

Close the video window: Tap the Close button.

Return to a full video screen: Tap the Restore Full Screen button in the small video window.

Multitask with Picture in Picture on iPhone

Try other apps to narrow the issue down. If you play a video from the Photos app, is there any change? What about if you use the YouTube app rather than Safari?

Take care!
