Apple Pencil 2 ‘gestures’ not working

I’ve just recieved my Apple pencil 2 for an iPad Pro 2020. Although the pencil is responding and I can write with it, it won’t change the line thickness based on pressure or on angle (shadow function). Also I don’t see pencil options within the accessibility menu.

It is fully charged, paired, I already updated the software to OS16 and turned the device off and on. Also removed the screen projector, but that didn’t make a difference. Does anyone recognise the problem or knows what I could do?
