Apple Pencil Pro gesture settings not sticking

Just in case anyone else encounters this: If your Apple Pencil Pro and iPad Pro M4 won’t accept your settings for the Pencil’s Squeeze and Double Tap gestures (they both still show as Off, no matter which options you choose), go to Settings > Accessibility > Apple Pencil, and enable Double Tap Gesture. It’s a master cut-off switch for both gestures. You’ll then be able to choose options for those gestures in Settings > Apple Pencil.

No doubt that owners of the new 2024 iPads Air and Pro, using the equally new Apple Pencil Pro, may find this insight helpful.

The additional Accessibility controls for Apple Pencil are not obvious in their existence or location with device settings:

Settings > Accessibility > Apple Pencil

It is perhaps worthy of comment that unlike the main Apple Pencil settings (Settings > Apple Pencil), the Accessibility controls for Apple Pencil are only visible/accessible while the Pencil is "active". When the Pencil is set aside for a short period and is motionless, the Pencil transitions to its inactive (low power state) - during which the Accessibility controls for Apple Pencil are neither visible nor accessible from settings.
