I can see the top level folders for my email accounts in the sidebar of there Apple Mail App but I can't open any of them and I also seem to have lost some of the 'Favourites' as well as the 'All New Items' (Not sure if that is the right way it is titled).
Not sure what to do........

Hover the cursor near the word Favorites, and also near the name of each account.
Don't you see something like this?
Click the ">" and it should "twirl open", disclosing the several Favorites (and likewise for the several mailboxes under each account)
Well, at least some Favorites are already showing.
The names themselves being grey is perfectly normal.
These are not mailboxes or folders, they're labels for each section of the sidebar.
When parking the cursor at or near the word Favorites (resp., "On My Mac", "Smart Mailboxes", etc) - NOT clicking, are sure that the circled + and the ">" (or in the case of Favorites, a "V", as it is already open) are not showing?

The + sign with Mouse Over will appear and from there Add your Favourites
Thanks for the quick response but it seems like all of the mail accounts listed are 'greyed out' so I can't select any of them.
Hi Luis, no there is no response from Apple mail at all when I hover the cursor over anything in the side bar.
Hmmm, I think maybe the mail app was 're-indexing' as I have left it for a while and I now have access to everything again.
Not sure why it was doing that though.
