Apple Watch - location requested

No, the other watch is paired to my other iPhone. My point is both watches in the family group are setup the same way (but with different iCloud accounts) at the same location, under same mobile phone plan for all 4 devices, but one watch keeps saying “location requested” in the controls screen and most the time can’t seem to find itself. It is an older iPhone 7 so maybe it’s the gps not working well in this rainy CA weather. It worked fine a month ago. Both phones use iOS 16.2 and watches use 9.2. Just wondering if I missed a setting somewhere that is causing the problem or is it a bug in the os.

No. I’ve been using Find My to see where my devices are since they are all on the same list. I loaned my old phone to another person. All are working now, but the watch still says location requested. What does location requested on the watch mean.

i do have another issue that may be causing problems. My old phone mixes me up with my newer phone. Even though I have separate Apple accounts, the contact picture from my newer account shows up on the contact information for my older phone apple account. I originally loaned my old phone to a family member and started a new phone/account for myself. A lot of my apps/movie/music media was associated with the older account so I get to it using family sharing. Since you cannot transfer media between accounts I just stuck with it. Someday I plan to sort that all out. But that may be sooner than later if the new IOS is getting confused on who the old phone thinks its owner is.

thanks sberman! Just saw your response about cleaning the old phone as I posted my lack of cleaning the old phone. It all somehow worked until the new iOS.

Think I know the steps to unwind my accounts. But is there some help you can point me to?
