Recurrent Kernel Panic

Hi Apple Community,

I have a MacBookPro 15,2 13-inch, 2019, and I get a recurrent reboot of the laptop when I charge it in sleep mode. The toolbar flickers and sometimes is off entirely.

Using EtreCheckPro I get a long list of kernel panics

I took it to an Apple Support Center, and they did not find any hardware problem.

Hello icolu,

Since there were no hardware issues found, try all the steps here if they were not provided to you since they relate to issues like this, especially reinstalling macOS: If your Mac restarted because of a problem

Install all available software updates.
• If your Mac suspects that a particular app caused the restart, it might ask whether you would like to move the app to the Trash. Click Move to Trash, then contact the software developer to see if a software update is available.
• Use safe mode to try to isolate the cause of the issue.
Reinstall macOS. If the issue continues after reinstalling macOS, check your hardware.

If you have tried all the steps listed there, the next best thing to do is reach out to Apple Support directly so they can look into it further with you: Get Support

Cheers.

if you are using a VPN required by your Institution, you should look to them for assistance.

If you have added a VPN to your Mac yourself, you have essentially been scammed. Your Wi-Fi is already encrypted to your Router, and every important web site has encryption enabled. Using a VPN you installed yourself does NOT improve your security in the slightest over the very good security provide by MacOS.

Since these programs also seem to branch out and interfere in many other ways, it certainly causes problems, not limited to slowing down your Mac.

I recommend you remove ALL VPN features you have installed, and NEVER re-install them.

There is a LOT more troubling stuff in your report, but that is the most egregious.

The next most egregious item on your Mac is a non-Apple files sync-er that appears to be running all the time. Because these programs were ported form other environments, they tend to read your files, non-stop, then begin again. In that regard, they are a lot like Virus scanners. in addition, some of these third-party scanner read the files you stored on the web as well, looking for changes there. This wastes system resources and slows down your Mac.

The main one you appear to be running is OneDrive. If you MUST use OneDrive, do not launch it at login, but launch it only when needed, then quit it when done.
