extended displays mirrored after sleep

My iMac is running Ventura 13.0.1

I have two LG displays attached.

I do not turn off the iMac when not in use. Frequently when I return and wake-up the iMac, the two extended displays are mirrored. To stop this behavior, I must to to System Settings and tell macOS to mirror one of the displays~then tell macOS to stop mirroring. Easy to do but a nuisance. Ideas on how to stop this behavior would be appreciated.
