Apple Cash - cards listed under not available for this payment

I have a Consumer debit card tied to Apple Cash. When trying to add a credit card and a Business debit card, it adds them under 'Not available for this payment' along with 'not accepted by app'.

What are the list of reasons for not being available or not accepted by app specifically for the Business debit card? The Consumer debit card I successfully added and the Business debit card that won't connect are issued by the same bank.

I'm asking on behalf of the issuing bank. The business card can be added to Apple Pay with no problem, but not tied to Apple Cash. Small businesses use business cards tied to P2P services to transfer funds to vendors and pay employees.

I was hoping to find reasoning cleared stated from Apple. I spent more than an hour trying to find clear terms. They mention 'eligible' debit cards, but don't detail what they consider 'eligible'. Apple should be be familiar with card program types like personal, business, HSA, etc. They should be able to define if specific card program types are not eligible for certain products/services.

It's still a community comprised of people that may have experienced the same issue and got clear guidance, but ok.

It never hurts to ask. If you don't have a solid answer, don't respond. You were already incorrect on being able to add a card to Apple Pay.

There could be a user that has a business card that has successfully set it up with Apple Cash which would be helpful to know.

Do you work for the bank or not?

If not, what did the bank tell you when you asked them about this?

If so, then run it up the food chain if you don’t know the answer. Just because one bank allows business cards to be set up in Apple Pay doesn’t mean yours does. Or that those specific accounts qualify.

Whether it can be done is under the control of the bank. Until you verify that your bank allows those specific accounts to be set up in Apple Pay, you’re wasting your time.
