Will iTunes 12.12.7 sync iPhone 12, iOS 15.7 with Outlook 2016 calendar on Windows 10?

I currently have Windows 10, Outlook 2016, & iTunes 12.12.6.1 & I can sync my Outlook. iTunes is asking me to update to 12.12.7. Previously (at least a year or 2 ago), Apple said it was going to remove the ability to sync iPhone with Outlook.

What I'd like to know is if anyone who is using Outlook on a Windows computer has iTunes 12.12.7 has tried to sync their iPhone with Outlook through iTunes.

Thank you in advance.

Hello phrab,

For assistance with syncing your iPhone with Outlook, we'd recommend reviewing the following how to from Microsoft: Synchronize Outlook and Apple iPhone or iPod touch calendars - Microsoft Support

  1. "Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer using the cable provided with your device or by placing the iPhone or iPod touch in the Apple Universal Dock.
  2. iTunes opens automatically when connected to your computer.
  3. In iTunes, in the source list, under Devices, click the entry for your iPhone or iPod touch.
  4. Click the Info tab.
  5. Under Calendars, click Sync calendars from, and then click Outlook.
  6. Do one of the following:

    • To synchronize all calendars, click All calendars.
    • To limit the calendars that are synchronized, click Selected calendars, and then click the calendars you want to synchronize.
    • Note: To select multiple calendars, press Ctrl as you click each calendar name.

8. Click Apply."

If you need further assistance, you can reach out to Microsoft through that article.

I don't think you even read my question. I obviously know how to sync iTunes with Outlook. I even said so in my question. I want to know whether iTunes 12.12.7 will remove that ability. If you haven't used iTunes 12.12.7 to sync with Outlook, then you don't know if it'll work. That's why I asked "if anyone who is using Outlook on a Windows computer has iTunes 12.12.7 has tried to sync their iPhone with Outlook through iTunes".

These "community specialists", if that's really what they are, are too often pointlessly maddening. Even though they go through the pretense of replaying the question you asked, as you indicate here, they frequently (I would say at least half the time) answer some other question you didn't ask, or would have preferred you asked them instead. It's even worse over at Microsoft: the response always seems to be for you to uninstall and reinstall whatever program you're asking them about, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling your firewall program, your malware program, your office program, even your entire operating system.

As you imply, most of the time they are just lazy, which I suppose is better than being malfeasant.

Thank you for your reply. I used to be a Microsoft Word expert, and would answer questions and give advice. At that time, most of the answers were given by real experts that were extremely helpful. I was never an MVP, but had a better than average working knowledge of Word. But I stayed with Word 2003, as I thought that every new version brought too much complexity and was less user-friendly.
