My remote is buggy and stops working at random times even though fully charged, I'd like to update the firmware to see if this helps. Now it is 0x0070. I just purchased this AppleTV device Dec 2021.
How do I update the firmware on the remote?

I called Apple support for help 30 mins ago and they confirmed there is no Consumer facing way to update the firmware. The only thing one can do is create the best conditions for the AppleTV itself to push a firmware update to the remote: 1) Ensure AppleTV OS is up to date 2) ensure the remote is charged above 50% , and 3) place the remote near the AppleTV itself to ensure a strong connection.

You're very welcome. Yes, that is correct, however, your remote appears to already be up to date. So if you are facing an issue best to consult the article to see if that helps, and if you still face an issue then to contact Apple for assistance on that specifically.
As far as I can see that looks to be the latest firmware.
