Airdrop photos and it ends up in different folders

When I airdrop a selection of photos/videos to my Mac, they all end up in individual folders. It’s incredibly frustrating and I don’t know what to do. I want the day stamp on it so I have to keep all data saved.

Yes from my iphone to my Mac. I selected to send them to my download but they end up in separate folders within my download folder.

AirDrop from where? From your iPhone to your Mac Air? When I AirDrop from my phone to my Mac, the pictures show up in the Downloads folder, not inside any additional folders.

The place I run into the folder thing is if I import pictures to Photos and select "Keep Folder Designations" then I get more folders that I really want. Could this be what you mean?
