AirDrop loses EXIF data

Is there any way to AirDrop pictures while preserving EXIF and date info?

Transferring photos from the iPhone to the Mac using AirDrop strips off the EXIF and other info, notably losing creation date and time and location. The sequence is:

• Display or select a picture on the phone

• Click the arrow-from-a-box icon (share)

• Click the AirDrop icon

• Available destination devices are listed

• Click on one

• It's sent

NOTE! There are no other options or settings along the way. In another Q&A here, someone mentioned a box to "Toggle 'All photos data' to ON". There is nothing like that in this sequence. Is it somewhere else, or has it been removed?

Hello KevinKillion,

AirDrop is an easy way to share files, photos, etc. with someone else or between your own devices. However, it does not save the photo data, this is removed for your privacy. In order to get the photo on another device, we'd suggest using another method to transfer it. If these are photos, we'd suggest using these steps to transfer them to a computer: Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone or iPad to your Mac or PC

Hoping this helps out, take care.
