air dropping photos from iPhone 14 Pro to MacBook Pro 2022

I have been airdropping photos from my iPhone to my MacBook this evening and after transferring approximately 100 photos and movies the airdrops suddenly starting changing the dates and times that the photos and movies were taken. The first 100 were just fine, but after that, it would put out random dates or simply record them as having been created today. I refuse to go back and change the dates as that would take many, many hours. Has anyone come up with a reason for this and/or a solution?

The File Creation date can easily be confused with the Image Creation date. In fact,

there are way more than 3 dates in the metadata. Here's a picture from a week ago:

And here are the dates I found in the Exif file:

Date/Time Original : 2024:09:13 07:41:19

Create Date : 2024:09:13 07:41:19

Digital Creation Date : 2024:09:13

Create Date : 2024:09:13 07:41:19.29-05:00

Date/Time Original : 2024:09:13 07:41:19.29-05:00

Modify Date : 2024:09:16 15:09:31-05:00

GPS Date/Time : 2024:09:13 12:41:08.09Z

Date/Time Created : 2024:09:13 07:41:19-05:00

Digital Creation Date/Time : 2024:09:13 07:41:19-05:00

What date are you referring to, and where do you see it? There are many dates contained in a pictue's metadata, and Finder, a File Management System, doesn't show the "taken" date but rather a file date. It may be that an image viewer app will show the correct taken date. For instance, if you import one of these pictures into Preview, for instance, does it show the same crazy date or does it show the taken date.

Richard,

thanks for your reply. There are three dates listed under info for photos as you know. All three were correct for the first 100 or so photos that i air dropped. Then all 3 were wrong. I gave up and went to bed thinking that it might resolve the next day by shutting down bothe devices. It did to some extent. The “created” and “modified” dates were still not the times i took the photos, but the “content created” dates and times were good and that was enough for me.
