Apple Watch resetting to New York and Cupertino

All

I just got a new iPhone 14 pro and synced it to my Apple Watch 6. Most apps work fine but the weather keeps resetting to New York and Cupertino instead of about 20 other cities on my iPhone. Both devices are on their latest os versions and I restarted both number of times. I also unpaired and paired it. I tried Apple support but they were clueless. I also deleted NY and Cupertino from my watch but they keep reappearing The weather app worked fine on my old iPhone 8. The cities show fine in my Apple Watch app on iPhone, just not on my Apple Watch. Anybody knows the fix? Thanks

It keeps happening with my Ultra watch and iPhone SE (2020). I've noticed it happens when my watch dies and reboots, the weather defaults back to Cupertino. I've completely removed everything but my local town from my phone weather app, and my settings are to sync watch weather with phone, but without fail once the watch reboots it goes back to the Cupertino default.

I have the same issue, iPhone 13 Pro Max, and watch s7. All ios are utd, and after installing 9.2, the watch doesn’t charge to full on a 3rd party qi charger, and when I restart the watch, the weather resets to NYC and Cupertino. A temp fix: Opening and interacting with the weather app on the phone resets and corrects the weather display on the watch. Hoping a patch comes through soon.

This happens to me too. Sometime in the last few months the Apple OS has Cupertino and New York upon a reboot of the watch. It ignores what is set on your phone via mirroring or if you delete Cupertino or New York on the watch they will come back after a watch reboot. It is some hardcode in their watch boot up. The developer probably had that in the code in QA and they forgot to remove it before promoting the code to Production. It is very annoying. Apple testing team should have caught it by now since it has been there for months.
