photos cannot be synced to the iphone because your photos library could not be found

same old problem that Apple never seem to have fixed in every update to their IOS...

When trying to back up iphone Mac, I get:

'Photos cannot be synced to the iphone 'xxxx' because your photos libray could not be found. Open photos to create or update your Library.'

I use IOS Catalina 10.15.7

Iphone 13 IOS 16.1.2

Photos V5

Photos library is on the Mac hard drive, beinfg using all the time, but now get this message when I try to back up.

I can open photos and import photos, so no problem with Photos (aprart from it being a crap programme in the first place of course)

Anything else to try?

MacBook Pro 15″, OS X 10.11

Hi there kw1330.

Thank you for posting to Apple Support Communities.

We're happy to help. Our suggestion would be to update iOS on the iPhone to then try the sync again. We also recommend ensuring you back up your iPhone before updating. See here:
