Updated to Sequoia 15.4.1 and cannot backup / import photos from iPhone 14 Pro to Photos app

Updated to Sequoia 15.4.1 on my Macbook Pro 2019. Trying to backup photos on my iPhone 14 Pro through the Photos App on my Macbook Pro and is hung up on the Import progress bar with no progress at all. The attached photo is after letting it sit for an hour.

Anyone figure out a solution for photos to function as it should and backup/ import photos from my iPhone 14 Pro to my Macbook Pro 2019, both with the latest software updates?

Thanks in advance

Same here, also using iphone 14 pro. I have the photos library on an external drive. When I updated to Sequioa 15.4.1 it failed to open it saying it cannot "unlock" it and I had to browse and open it manually. When I did it proceeded to "update" the library.

Since then, when I try to import new photos from the phone, it momentarily disconnects the phone and reconnects it in the Photos app, and then the phone is unresponsive within the app. It fails to import even a single photo.

Yeah, that's what I assumed. I Airdropped all 670 photos + videos in batches first sort of as a backup. Then I thought about edits I made outside of Apple Apps. I did use Premiere Rush to edit a handful of videos so I deleted those first. In the past, never had issues importing Rush exports but went through process of elimination and what do you know, that was it. Guessing something in the newest 18.4.1 iOS update doesn't play nicely with Rush exports. Imported fine after that. Just have to tag the videos I export from Rush so I don't have to search for them.

Thank you

I use other editing apps on the Mac, but I try to be careful to go through Photos' own processes for checking the compatibility of files. I'm not sure how that's done on in iOS, but anything that bypasses Photos' checks can lead to headaches, later. Unless I heartily believed the alternate editor's guarantees, I think I'd use Photos to export to Files, edit, and then use Save to Files to re-import.
