Has anyone noticed that web browsers can't print from these discussions ? I get this:
There should be text in the greyed area. I have the same problem in Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
Also, there are many sites which Safari can't format properly for printing. For example, GitHub for which Safari prints the main text frame in a narrow column.
Or, is this a "feature" of Apple Discussions ?

It may have something to do with this; to make sure that you get the right answer, you will need to ask Apple because there are legalities involved: when you post something, you grant Apple the right to do with it as they wish - see this excerpt of the terms:
License to Use Submission. By posting a Submission, you agree to grant Apple a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive worldwide right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, play, make available to the public, and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to the Submission. If you do not want to grant Apple the rights set out above, do not send your Submission to the Site.

And, in my opinion, aside from Apple, you may also need to ask the user who posted for permission to copy their post - if it isn't Apple's property, it would be theirs. Just because you find it on the internet, it isn't necessarily free or might be protected with a copyright. It would not occur to me to copy someone's post unless I asked first.

I am seeing the same result in Safari, and FireFox as well. It also prodices the same result if I use the "save as pdf" option in the print dialog box.
As babowa says, we are end users like you and cannot answer "...why does/doesn't Apple do..." questions.
Thanks - I hadn't thought of that. Of course, it's easy to do a screen capture, which in macOS Ventura can be parsed for text. So, I wonder if preventing printing achieves much.
